Mother and Boyfriend Indicted for near drowning of 11 month old boy

A Maricopa County Grand Jury has indicted 23-year old Summer Dawn Angelly and her boyfriend 28 year old Jasen C. Anchondo in connection with the near drowning of 11-month old Jay Anchondo on August 5th.

Angelly and Anchondo are charged with one count each of Child Abuse, a Class 3 Felony and a Domestic Violence Offense.

The charges relate to an August 5th incident where a Tempe Police investigation alleges the baby had soiled a diaper and there were no clean ones available. The baby was alleged to have been placed by the couple in a tub with water still running. The allegations include the couple going to sleep while the baby was in the tub. According to the Tempe Police some time goes by before their 4-year old daughter wakes the couple to report the baby was asleep in the tub. Police report Angelly called 911, CPR was performed and the infant was transported to a local hospital.

Angelly and Anchondo are scheduled to be arraigned by a Superior Court Judge on August 29, 2011.
