PHOENIX, AZ (May 12, 2011) – Erin Otis, a prosecutor in the Sex Crimes Bureau of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, has been honored with the second annual Paladin Award by Streetlight Phoenix, a residential treatment facility for juvenile victims of commercial sexual exploitation. The Paladin Award, which represents a defender or advocate of a noble cause, was presented to Otis earlier this month and bears the inscription: “in recognition of her tireless and courageous efforts on behalf of the juvenile victims of our community.”
“We are enormously proud of the hard work Erin has devoted to prosecuting criminals who seek to exploit the most vulnerable members of our society,” said Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery. “Her success in bringing child predators to justice has made our community safer and raised public awareness of the terrible crime of sex trafficking,” he added.
In her eight years with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, Erin Otis has prosecuted numerous major crime cases and is frequently sought-after to speak on crimes involving the sexual exploitation of minors.
