Phoenix, Arizona – On January 8, 2020, a Maricopa County Grand Jury charged Father John “Jack” Dallas Spaulding, age 74, with six counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, a Class 2 Felony; and one count of Molestation of a Child, a Class 2 Felony. It is alleged that Spaulding sexually abused two boys, under the age of 15, between the years of 2003 and 2007.
“It is my commitment to this community that we will hold criminals accountable and protect the rights of victims,” said County Attorney Allister Adel. “It is an unspeakable thing to take away the innocence of a child. This indictment sends a clear message that we will hold those who commit these heinous acts accountable.”
Father Spaulding was a Catholic Priest at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Phoenix and St. Tim’s Catholic Church in Mesa when the alleged acts took place.
A charge in a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
