(PHOENIX, AZ) November 22, 2010 – Bill Montgomery was formally sworn in as Maricopa County Attorney this morning in a brief ceremony held in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium. Following the official canvass of the November 2nd General Election results, Superior Court Judge Norm Davis administered the oath of office to Montgomery in front of an audience of family members, elected officials and professional colleagues.

“As Maricopa County Attorney, I will be committed to ensuring that justice is served in each and every case and that the rights of victims are respected and vindicated,” Montgomery said in prepared remarks. “I pledge to exercise the duties and responsibilities of this office with the highest level of professional and ethical conduct,” he added.

“I welcome Mr. Montgomery to his new position as County Attorney and look forward to working with him,” said Board of Supervisors Chairman Don Stapley.

As a West Point Graduate, decorated Gulf War Veteran and former Deputy County Attorney, Montgomery has dedicated his personal and professional life to serving others. He was elected on a promise to provide the citizens and government officials of Maricopa County with the very best legal representation and the highest degree of integrity and accountability.
