Training Teens to Recognize and Lend Aid to
Troubled Peers

Last month, MCAO was a proud sponsor and participant in the fourth annual Speak Up, Stand Up, Save a Life Conference at Grand Canyon University. The conference brought together over 4,000 students from 157 schools and 54 districts to raise awareness of some of the toughest issues students encounter while attending middle school and high school. Through interactive presentations and group discussions, attendees were empowered to talk about bullying, substance abuse, self-harm, suicide, and learned about warning signs and other preventative tools.  The work students, parents, teachers, counselors, and resource officers accomplished during this conference will have a collective impact on over 400,000 students across the state.
