Message from County Attorney Allister Adel
I went to law school to become a prosecutor. I wanted to seek justice for victims of crime and ensure the due process rights of defendants. Working for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (MCAO) right out of law school and then becoming County Attorney in 2019 was the culmination of a lot of hard work. However, the hard work paid off and the professionals at the county attorney’s office have made my career more fulfilling than I could have imagined.
As the third largest prosecution agency in the country, the professionals at MCAO play a critical role in keeping our community safe. Whether they are a prosecutor in court presenting evidence to a jury, a paralegal assisting on an important case, an investigator seeking truth, or an advocate working directly with someone impacted by a crime, each and every person in this office is committed to doing the right things for the right reasons. Our civil division provides legal advice to all facets of county government and ensures the residents of Maricopa County are served by a county entity that is fair and just.
However, we can’t do it alone. Working at the county attorney’s office, and especially within a prosecutorial agency, can be challenging, but the men and women in this office are dedicated professionals who act with character. Now, more than ever, this office needs skilled individuals to join our team and help ensure that the wheels of justice continue to turn.
I encourage you to learn more about a career with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. I believe it is an opportunity that you will find rewarding and inspiring and one that will provide you years of personal and professional fulfillment. I know it has for me and the more than 1,000 employees currently working in this office.
