Roles of the Advocate
- Assist victims of felony and misdemeanor crimes as they participate in the criminal justice system
- Provide victims with notification pursuant to victims' rights
- Strive to minimize emotional trauma
- Strive to minimize secondary trauma
- Assist with social service needs
- Provide emotional support and escorts
- Assist as a go-between for the victim and the prosecutor
Victim Compensation
If you have been the victim of a crime in Maricopa County, you may be eligible for victim compensation to assist you with financial expenses that you may have incurred.
In Arizona, victim compensation is funded by fees paid by convicted felons. The state, through local boards, disburses compensation to eligible victims of crime. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office Victim Compensation Bureau is the local victim compensation agency for Maricopa County.

Court Information & Maps
For victims visiting the Maricopa County Attorney's Office Victim Services Division downtown office, or testifying in Maricopa County Superior Court, a map is located below of the downtown Phoenix area.
Parking is available at 6th Avenue and Jefferson (shown in the yellow shaded area of the map). The Superior Court is located between 1st and 3rd Avenues on Jefferson (blue shaded area), and the County Attorney's Office is located in the County Administration Building, 301 West Jefferson (orange shaded area)
